Description
An exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager has become available with a leading civil engineering contractor.
The business is part of a wider group that turns over £1BN per annum operating across the water, aviation, telecoms, highways and power sectors.
This is a strategic, senior management role that allows for a great deal of autonomy. The Senior Commercial Manager will lead and develop the QS team as well as develop and implement enhanced processes throughout the department.
This is a hybrid working role with two days per week expected in Dartford.
The Role
The Senior Commercial Manager will lead the QS team and procurement function across the business and will work closely with Senior Operations Managers to lead and support all financial and commercial aspects of schemes.
This role should appeal to an experienced Commercial Manager seeking the opportunity to work for a company that is on a significant growth strategy.
Responsibilities will include:
• Managing commercial aspects of all contracts through to final accounting and project handover
• Developing, nurturing and maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders
• Supporting the commercial team in the identification and correct management of change events
• Ensuring accurate financial and contractual performance forecasts are in place across all projects
• Monitoring cash flow and ensuring budgets are achieved
• Providing leadership across the commercial and procurement teams and carrying out recruitment as the business continues to grow.
Experience Required
• Suitable candidates will be educated to BSc Quantity Surveying and will be able to demonstrate experience working on civils and or utility projects.
• The Senior Commercial Manager must be proactive, highly driven and will have first-class communication skills, able to build excellent working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• You will be a natural leader with the ability to inspire those around you and be able to adapt to changing workloads and work to tight deadlines.
