Description

An opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor has become available with major civil engineering contractor that are delivering a £500M civil engineering framework.
Projects range from £5M-£20M in value and are administered under NEC and IchemE conditions.

This is a newly created role as a result of a significant, recently awarded tender, the role presents the Quantity Surveyor the opportunity to join an industry-leading business and work on a range of interesting civil engineering and MEICA projects in the buoyant water sector.
This is a hybrid working role with three days per week expected on-site or in the office

The Role
• Reporting to the Commercial Manager the Quantity Surveyor's responsibilities will include:
• Ensure contractual and commercial risks and opportunities are identified to the Project
• Helping to maintain registers of variations, delay, extension times and claims, effective and consistent implementation of the
Company's commercial policies and procedures
• Assist with the preparation of monthly progress valuations and claims for work completed
• Assist with pre-contract tender negotiations & reports where necessary
• Contribute to the production of monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Budget reports
• Review value management / value engineering exercises
• Advise on Risk management & participate in Risk workshop
• Produce and monitor Commercial / Contractual correspondence and issues to reflect best practice
• Manage sub-contractor accounts and payments
• Reconcile weekly plant, material, labour reconciliation against budget


Experienced & Qualifications Required
• Suitable Quantity Surveyors will be educated in BSc Quantity Surveying and will be able to demonstrate no less than three to four years working on civil engineering or utility projects.
• Quantity Surveyors wishing to apply must be confident in dealing with stakeholders from different disciplines to establish a complete commercial understanding
• First-class communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build excellent relationships with operational colleagues and stakeholders.
